Illegal Immigrants Caught Walking Through KNP
SKUKUZA- The Kruger National Park says more than 10 illegal immigrants from Mozambique were caught attempting to cross to South Africa via the park over the weekend.
Raymond Travers, a spokesperson for the Park, says the Mozambican citizens were caught at the south eastern part of the park at Crocodile Bridge near Komatipoort, in Mpumalanga.
Travers says they were immediately handed over to the police to be repatriated back to their original country. He says this year the number of illegal immigrants crossing through the park has decreased.
Travers says the arrests follow the implementation of special measures to stop such people crossing illegally through the park.
