Bookings Required for the Next Weekends

(SKUKUZA) - If you're planning to spend a day in the Kruger National Park this Easter weekend, you're advised to make a booking to ensure you're not turned away at the gates.

Kruger spokesperson Raymond Travers said the park had to limit its visitors, especially over holiday times.

"Entrance gate quotas are enforced to minimise possible environmental damage that might be caused by increased traffic and so that the park isn't so full of people that it becomes unpleasant for everyone," he explained.

The booking system applies to all day-visitors, including Wild Card holders who don't have to pay to enter the park.

Raymond said the Freedom Day of April 27 - 30 was also expected to be busy, so visitors should book early to avoid disappointment.

The daily quotas at the park's gates vary between 350 and 750.

When the quota is reached, the gate is closed, except for visitors who have made bookings.

Bookings can be made on 012 428 9111 or at the gate the visitor plans to use.
