Two Night Classic: Simbambili
CATS AND COMFORT, $$$
Simbambili is one of the lesser-known Lodges in the renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve. It is a gem of a place, and offers very good value for money in what is one of the world's prime Safari destinations. The Big Five abound here, and sightings usually come thick and fast!

Day One
Arrive into either O.R. Tambo International Airport (ORT) or Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA). From there, your chartered flight will fly to your Safari destination, Simbambili in the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve, a major part of the Greater Kruger National Park which is rightly known for its' abundant cat sightings.
Your activities commence soon after arrival- following time to freshen up and have high tea, an afternoon/ evening game drive follows. Sabi Sand guests typically enjoy an impressive number and range of sightings through the use of a centralised radio system into which sightings are "called". Rest assured that this does not dilute the impact or intimacy of the experience. Indeed, if there are any particular "wishes" that you have (honey badger, caracal, aardvark) then it maximizes your chances of seeing them if you let your Guide know.
There is an abundance of water here with the Sabi and the Sand Rivers close by, and the Reserve sustains a high carrying capacity of game. Of particular note here is the potential to see huge herds of buffalo (500+): an astonishing sight.
Simbambili is set amongst magnificent trees along the meandering Manyeleti River in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. This reserve offers you the greatest likelihood of seeing leopards close up- they have been studied intensively in the Sabi Sand since the 1970s and tolerate human presence in a way they do not elsewhere, even using vehicles as a screen to hunt with on occasion.

DAY TWO
You will have an early wake up call with coffee before your dawn Safari. Your two nights here should allow you to fill in any missing 'ticks' in your Big Five list. And this is one of the few places in the world where you have a good chance of encountering cheetah in such a compressed timeframe.
After breakfast at the Lodge, enjoy a bush walk with your Guide or relax around your private plunge pool. A day for you to fully enjoy the magic of Africa. After a light lunch, perhaps a siesta before afternoon tea and your evening game drive.
Simbambili is a highly individual destination for the discerning traveller, an expression of modern South African culture. The design is sophisticated yet simple, and each room has spectacular views from the unique en-suite bathrooms, salas and private plunge pools.

DAY THREE
After your final morning game drive (expect to be quite emotional by now!) and breakfast, your pilot from the Private Charter Compay will collect you for your flight back to O.R. Tambo International. Your flight takes you over the magnificent vistas of the Kruger National Park, the Mpumalanga Drakensberg and gives you time to reminisce and reflect as you head westwards and back to the real world after your fantasy short Safari!
